Colin Edwin
Colin Edwin is a musician from Melbourne, United Kingdom, born in 1970. He plays fretted and fretless bass guitar, double bass and guimbri, and works mainly in art rock, neo-psychedelia, progressive rock and rock. He first comes to public attention as bass player with Porcupine Tree, a British progressive rock band he joins in 1993 and leaves in 2011.
Collaborations and projects
Edwin is a member of Ex-Wise Heads, a long-running collaboration with multi-instrumentalist Geoff Leigh that combines ethnic, ambient and post-modern influences. He also plays in Random Noise Generator, a metal-influenced project, and Metallic Taste of Blood. His other groups include O.R.k., Fractal Sextet and Gaudi Kosmisches Trio.
Alongside his band work, he releases solo material and takes part in a number of collaborations. He works with Burnt Belief and has collaborated with Italian bassist Lorenzo Feliciati on the album Twinscapes, which appears on RareNoise in 2014. He also collaborates with the Ukrainian vocal duo Astarta, performing in London and Ukraine and releasing a full-length album in 2016.
