Caro

Caro is a name used by several different acts, including a Danish thrash metal band, a Dutch pop and jazz singer, a Japanese singer-songwriter, a Hamburg-based jazz singer, a Turkish instrumental group, an electronic producer from the United States, and an alternative indie rock trio from Leeds.

Danish thrash metal band

The Danish Caro comes from Frederikshavn. The band forms in 2007 under the name OMEN and changes its name to Caro in 2011. Its line-up draws on different musical backgrounds, and the group plays a mixture of thrash, death and progressive metal. It records the EP Like a Sickness at Dead Rat Studio with Jacob Bredahl, and the release appears in April 2011. The band plays concerts across Denmark as both headliners and support acts, and it focuses on an energetic live show with humour. Its performances combine thrashy riffs, breakdowns and melodic hooks. The group is also scheduled to appear at Inferno festival in Norway alongside acts including Immortal, Meshuggah and Napalm Death.

Dutch singer

Another Caro is Caroline Esmeralda van der Leeuw, born 26 April 1981. She is a Dutch pop and jazz singer who mainly performs in English. She is formerly known as Caro Emerald and later as The Jordan, and in early 2026 she announces a return under the name Caro. Her YouTube account is renamed from The Jordan to Caro, and she releases the song I Can't Win under this name. She is also featured on Close My Eyes Forever by Ski King.

Japanese singer-songwriter

Caro(キャロ) is a Japanese female singer-songwriter and vocalist. She performs the Japanese version of the main theme song for Fire Emblem: Three Houses, titled The Edge of Dawn. She debuts on 18 December 2006 with the single Fallin'. She also works at LEBECCA boutique as a model and staff member.

Hamburg-based jazz singer

Caro Josée is the name later used by a jazz singer based in Hamburg, Germany. Her full name is José Caroline Tollenaar. She begins her career in 1970s Hamburg, later steps away from performing, and then returns with the live band Carolisa. She performs with Australian singer Lisa Lagoda and musicians including Jean-Jacques Kravetz, Pascal Kravetz, Julien Kravetz, Arndt Geise, Martin Scheffler and Robbie Smith. Her album Eternity appears in 2005 and brings together blues, soul, R&B and jazz. She wins the German Record Prize in 1978 for her first album, is discovered at Onkel Pö, and is named discovery of the year by the teen magazine Bravo.

Electronic producer and Turkish instrumental group

One Caro is Randy Jones, a co-founder of Orac Records. He is from Madison, Wisconsin, and later moves to Seattle, Washington. His first full-length, The Return of Caro, is released in 2005 after a series of 12-inch records that draw on old Chicago house and modern techno. His live shows combine electronic music with singing, improvisation, and elements of pop and soul. Another Caro is a Turkish instrumental music group led by Caro Fibonacci.

Leeds trio
