Camp Stag

Camp Stag are a band from Stoke-on-Trent. They form around a sound described in the input as indie, with tracks built on quiet-loud shifts, synths, percussion, guitar, bass and Hammond organ. The group’s debut single is Sirens, which appears in April 2012. It draws attention from BBC DJs Huw Stephens, Greg James and Tom Robinson and leads to a slot on the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury Festival in 2013.

In October 2012, the band releases the EP When The Lights Come Down. This is followed by the single Walking With Broken Bones in May 2013. During 2013, Camp Stag support The 1975, Liam Fray and Dry The River, and appear at Tramlines, Kendal Calling and Belladrum.

The band continue into 2014 with further live dates, including support slots with Jimi Goodwin, an appearance at Liverpool Sound City and a headline performance at Y Not Festival. In May 2014 they release their third single, Hide & Seek, and they also prepare the EP Leviathan.

Commentary attached to their songs highlights emotive vocals, progressive rhythms, seismic bass grooves and dynamic shifts, and places them in a space between indie, alternative rock and atmospheric, synth-led songcraft.
