Boom Monk Ben is a UK DJ known for a style built from a wide range of dancefloor genres, using Serato and quick mixing to combine hip hop, dancehall, funk, breakbeats, house, electro, dubstep and drum and bass. He is based in Glasgow, where he becomes one of the city’s best-known DJs and plays regularly in its club scene.

Glasgow and Mixed Bizness

In Glasgow, he runs the Mixed Bizness club nights, which draw large crowds to Glasgow Art School each week. These nights become a regular part of the city’s club culture and help establish his reputation in Scotland’s electronic music scene.

Beyond Glasgow, Boom Monk Ben performs at clubs and festivals in the UK and internationally. His appearances include venues and events in Montreal, Cape Town, Paris, Moscow, Zagreb, London, Vienna, Ljubljana, Liverpool, Belfast, Bristol and Edinburgh, as well as Rockness, The Big Chill, Bestival, Hydro-Connect, Copenhagen’s Public Service Festival and Montreal’s Piknik Elektronik.

Ninja Tune and Solid Steel

The show broadcasts in many countries, and he places runner-up in its Best Of 2006 guest mix competition before finishing third in 2007. He later joins the official Solid Steel team alongside artists including Coldcut, DJ Food, DK and Kentaro, as well as newer additions Cheeba and DJ Moneyshot.

His work appears on the Solid Steel platform, where his mixing style is presented as part of the label’s broader DJ project.
