Blood Command

Blood Command is a band from Bergen, Norway, active since 2008. It plays a mix of pop punk, punk, punk rock, rock and skate punk, and is also described as post-hardcore and punk.

Formation and early line-up

The group forms in Bergen in 2008, started by Yngve Andersen, who plays guitar, bass guitar and keyboard and had previously been in Jeroan Drive. He brings in Silje Tombre on vocals and Sigurd Haakaas on drums.

Releases and recognition

The band receives a nomination for Årets Urørt in 2010. Its album Ghostlocks is nominated for the Spellemannprisen for best rock album in 2011. The single “Cult of the New Beat” is played on BBC radio, and Rock Sound names the band “Band of the Week”.

Touring and line-up changes

In August 2011, Blood Command supports the Canadian hardcore band Comeback Kid in Europe. In 2015, Silje Tombre is replaced as vocalist by Karina Ljone. After a period away, the band returns in 2017 with Cult Drugs. Two years later it releases the EP Return of the Arsonist.

Recent personnel

In 2020, Karina Ljone leaves the band and Nikki Brumen replaces her. The last recording with Ljone is the single “Saturday City”, which is re-recorded by Brumen for the 2022 album Praise Armageddonism.
