Blonde

Blonde is a UK house production duo formed by Adam Englefield and Jacob Manson. The act is based in the United Kingdom and works in deep house and house. It is active from 2012 and signed to Parlophone.

Early releases and breakthrough

The duo premieres the track “It’s You” through Englefield’s dance music YouTube channel Eton Messy in July 2013. Their debut single, “Foolish”, follows in May 2014 and features vocals from Ryan Ashley. A second single, “Higher Ground”, arrives in July 2014 with vocals from Charli Taft.

Blonde come to wider attention in the UK after BBC Radio 1 playlists “I Loved You” and names it its track of the day in October 2014. The song also receives strong support from Radio 1 DJ Greg James. “I Loved You” features Melissa Steel and gets favourable coverage in Clash and Heat. It enters the UK Singles Chart at number seven and the Scottish Singles Chart at number ten.

Further singles and collaborations

Their fourth single, “All Cried Out”, features Glee actor Alex Newell and reaches number four in the UK. Their fifth single, “Feel Good (It’s Alright)”, features Karen Harding.

In 2016, Blonde collaborate with Craig David on “Nothing Like This”, a song from David’s album Following My Intuition. They also co-write “Don’t Need No Money”, the debut single by Imani Williams, alongside Sigala. In addition, they co-write Rudimental and Ed Sheeran’s “Lay It All on Me” with Johnny Harris and James Newman. The song begins as a session between Blonde, Harris and Newman before being pitched to Rudimental, with Ed Sheeran later brought in to rewrite the break.
