Black Lungs

Black Lungs is a punk and alternative rock group from St. Catharines, Canada. It begins as a side project for Wade MacNeil, who is also known as the guitarist of Alexisonfire, and he sings lead vocals in the band. Its sound is described as resembling his earlier punk band Plan 9.

Line-up and collaborators

The project includes Wade MacNeil as the central member. At different points, it includes George Pettit of Alexisonfire on bass, as well as Jordan “Ratbeard” Hastings and Sean McNabb, both formerly of Jersey and later in The Creepshow. An earlier version of the band consists of Wade MacNeil and Sammi Bogdanski on piano.

Releases

Black Lungs releases Send Flowers, its first studio album, through Dine Alone Records. The band later records a second album with producer Nick Blagona. That album is titled Pagan Holiday; after being shelved for several years, it is eventually issued online for free.

The group is active from 2005 to the present.
