Bel Esprit
Bel Esprit are an indie rock band from Southampton, active from 2013. They take their name from the fund Ezra Pound created for T. S. Eliot so that he could leave his day job and write poetry full time. Their sound is described as drawing on the Velvet Underground, Patti Smith and Television, combining live energy with ambitious lyrics.
Releases and early activity
The band issues a demo CD titled Is This The Night? and launches its first song, Midnight, Midnight, in May 2013. It later releases the debut single Lose My Mind, backed with The Mad Ones.
