Armin Van Buuren

Armin Jozef Jacobus Daniël van Buuren is a Dutch DJ and record producer working in trance, progressive trance, vocal trance, electronic and dance music. He is active from the early 2000s and is known for presenting a long-running radio show and for chart success in dance and electronic music.

A State of Trance

Since 2001, he hosts A State of Trance (ASOT), a weekly radio show that reaches a large international audience through FM stations in many countries. The programme becomes one of the most recognisable parts of his career.

Recognition and chart record

Van Buuren receives multiple career accolades and ranks number one in DJ Mag's DJ poll five times, including four years in a row. He places fifth in the 2022 DJ Mag Top 100 DJs list, after finishing fourth in 2015, 2016, 2019 and 2020, and third in 2017. In the United States, he holds the record for the most entries on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart, with twenty-one entries.

Grammy nomination

In 2014, he receives a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording for This Is What It Feels Like, a single featuring Trevor Guthrie. He is the fourth trance artist to receive a Grammy nomination.
