Amplifier

Amplifier are a British alternative rock, progressive rock and space rock band from Manchester, United Kingdom. They form in 1999 and remain active. The group includes Sel Balamir, Neil Mahony, Matt Brobin and Steve Durose.

Releases and career

The band releases four albums and four EPs. Their self-titled debut album appears in 2004 on Music for Nations. Their second album, Insider, is released in Europe in 2006 on SPV. Their third album, The Octopus, is issued to fans in December 2010 before a wider release in January 2011.

Sound

Amplifier’s music combines heavy alternative and progressive rock with space rock elements. Their sound is often associated with guitar effects, extended heavy passages, atmospheric arrangements and philosophical lyrics.
