According To You

According To You is a rock band from the Netherlands that forms out of earlier project The Sketnicks. The group begins in summer 2003 when Hubert and Roald start The Sketnicks as a punk band with humorous songs. Tim, Maikel and Niels later join, and the band plays a number of live shows over the next two years, including gigs with For The Alliance and It Takes Two.

In spring 2005, Niels leaves, and the remaining members continue under the name According To You. The music shifts from punk towards harder, more emotional rock, and the band is described with terms including emo, screamo and post-hardcore. The group plays its first gig in February 2006 and begins to build a following from there.

Recording

According To You records its first EP, In Silence We Close Our Eyes, which appears in October 2006. The release is produced with Hubrecht Eversdijk and Laurens Troost, both associated with the creative collective Intheshade.
