Taking place 25 – 28 May, HowTheLightGetsIn – the world’s largest philosophy and music festival – has added a second wave of artists to its already impressive bill.

Having previously revealed The Orb, as the headliner for Saturday night, the festival is proud to announce electronic pioneers Hot Chip as top of the bill for Sunday.

Announced today is Mercury-winning electronic dance pioneers, Hot Chip. Following widespread critical acclaim for their sixth studio album, Why Make Sense? the indietronic troubadours will take revellers on a nostalgic journey with their electro-pop DJ set on Sunday night.

Also joining the bill is Irish musician and singular performer, Camille O Sullivan. Known for her eccentric and brilliant mix of rock, cabaret and ballads, her show-stopping performance will include a mix of her own songs, as well as clever twists on classics from the likes of Jacques Brel Nick Cave, David Bowie and Radiohead, transforming each rendition into a theatrical experience and guaranteed to be a festival highlight.

Elsewhere on the bill is Fyfe Dangerfield, Luke Sital Singh, Badly Drawn Boy, Carny Villains, Laura Wraight , Tankus the Henge, The Turbans, Blair Dunlop, Undercover Hippy, Spiro, Yumi and the Weather and Patch and the Giant.

Said festival director Hilary Lawson: “The team are thrilled to announce another batch of amazing artists for this year’s festival.

“We’re incredibly proud of the line-up this year, one of our best and most diverse musical bills to date. There is no other festival in the world that combines the pleasures of music and philosophy in such a unique, inspiring and playful space.’

Boasting over 500 events and artists across 12 stages, HowTheLightGetsIn brings the world’s leading thinkers together with a magical programme of music, comedy, culture and performance - all set in atmospheric and intimate venues on the edge of the Black Mountains, alongside the river Wye. There is nowhere else in the world where you can dance into the night with Nobel prize-winners to the sounds of Mercury Prize nominees.

Taking place 25 – 28 May, HowTheLightGetsIn is a five-day festival of philosophy and music that will explore the theme of Darkness, Authority and Dreams. In these dark and turbulent times, we face many dangers, threats and unknowns. What beliefs and authorities have led us here? What dreams and visions for the future might enable us to create a better world?
