A brand new London music festival – Community – heads to Finsbury Park on Saturday 1 July 2017. Catfish and the Bottlemen, The Wombats and Slaves are amongst the acts announced for this inaugural event.

On announcing the event, Festival Republic’s Melvin Benn commented: “Finsbury Park has been a real hub for live music for many decades, so we can’t think of anywhere better to launch a new music festival in London.”

Community is the newest music event to be announced at Finsbury Park, which has hosted landmark nights of music with bands such as Arctic Monkeys, Stone Roses, Oasis and KISS in the past, as well as other festivals including leading urban event Wireless Festival.

Catfish and the Bottlemen are the UK's biggest guitar band to break through this decade. The alternative-rock sensation will perform at this year’s event, their only Festival appearance in mainland England this year. They will hit Finsbury Park in July to deliver an epic set including smashes from last year’s number one album The Ride, as well as favourites ‘Cocoon’ and ‘Kathleen’ from their Platinum debut album. The band head out across the Atlantic shortly after appearing at Community to embark on a two month Stadium Tour of USA with San Francisco legends Green Day.

Liverpool rockers The Wombats will hit Community also and take North London through a decade of hits including ‘Moving to New York’ from their debut, platinum-selling album as well as the likes of fan favourite ‘Emoticons’. Band members Matthew Murphy, Dan Haggis and Tord Øverland Knudsen will be pitstopping at the park as part of a mini UK-tour celebrating 10 years since their debut album.

The UK’s favourite punk duo Slaves, who shot quickly to live music notoriety in 2015 after a series of electrifying gigs on the UK festival circuit, will also play on July 1. Known for delivering raucous and unstoppably high energy sets, the two-man punk band will be making their debut at Finsbury Park  to steamroll through hits including ‘Spit It Out’ and ‘Where’s Your Car, Debbie?’

This stellar guitar-laden line-up also includes Southend-on-Sea’s finest guitar rock outfit Nothing But Thieves, to perform new material as well as tunes from their top 10 eponymous debut album.

Community is rounded off by the best of new music, with blazing four-piece The Hunna, Blackpool’s most exciting new rock band Darlia, indie pop five-piece Fickle Friends and Sheffield’s RedFaces added to the line up.
