Plenty of festivals say they're family-friendly. FeastyFest actually is — it's built around families, and in 2025 it took home our Best Small Festival award partly on the strength of it. If you're bringing children to Cheam Park on 12–13 September 2026, here's how to make the most of the day.

Kids World: the free activity zone

The heart of the family offering is Kids World, a dedicated zone of free activities that runs throughout the day. Expect a climbing and ropes course, zorbing, archery, arts and crafts, storytelling and mini-fairground rides — enough to keep children busy for hours, which is exactly what lets the grown-ups enjoy the food and music in peace.

What suits which age

There's genuinely something for every age. Toddlers have gentler sessions like yoga and storytelling; primary-age children gravitate to the climbing, crafts and rides; and older kids happily roam the food village and stages. It's relaxed enough that mixed-age groups all find their level.

Buggies, babies and accessibility

Cheam Park is flat, open parkland, so it's straightforward with a buggy — though grass can be soft after rain, so a sturdier pushchair beats a lightweight stroller. There's plenty of room to spread out a blanket away from the speakers if little ones need a nap or a quieter moment.

Food even fussy eaters will go for

With over 100 street-food traders, even the pickiest child will find something. The cashless site (card and contactless only) makes it easy to let older kids grab their own treats. Bringing the dog? Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome too.

Tips for a smooth family day

  • Arrive earlier rather than later — parking is easier and the day is calmer.
  • Agree a meeting point as you arrive, in case anyone wanders off.
  • Pack layers, sun cream and a spare top for smaller ones.
  • Bring a blanket for the music and a refillable water bottle.
