About Shiiine On Weekender
Skegness sits in Shiiine On’s origin story: the inaugural Weekender ran there in 2015, with a 10th anniversary special following in 2025. The format stuck. For 2027, Shiiine On Weekender runs 19–21 March at Butlin’s Family Entertainment Resort, Skegness, as an adults-only music weekender built around indie, alternative and dance.
The weekend runs across three days and nights by the sea. Packages include three nights at Butlin’s Skegness, so this is a resort-based weekender rather than a camping festival.
Lineup and Programme
Announced acts include Cast, Babyshambles and Ash. The bill leans into indie, alternative, dance and late-80s/90s nostalgia, with live bands, DJs and late-night parties in the mix.
The programme spreads out. Music runs through the Main Stage, Reds, Centre Stage, Shiiine On: Rave On, Shiiine On: Unplugged, Fierce Panda Stage and Tonic Mental Health Stage, with a Comedy Stage also part of the weekend. The 2027 Skegness edition brings Shiiine On: Unplugged to the resort for the first time.
Away from the band slots, the programme also takes in pool parties, silent discos, comedy, quiz and bingo.
Who Is It For?
This is strictly over 18s only. It is not a family weekend.
The crowd is built around fans of indie, alternative and dance music, with a clear late-80s and 90s pull. The resort setup also points to guests staying on site rather than moving between a campsite and arena.
The Venue and Site
Butlin’s Skegness puts the weekend inside resort venues rather than a field. There is no campsite.
Accommodation is on resort, with bars, restaurants, a water park, arcades, fairground rides, bowling, snooker and ATMs on site. The pitch is simple: no tents, no mud and no campsite trek back at the end of the night.
