By car: Dinton Pastures (Davis Street, RG10 0TH) is easily accessible by road. From the M4 (Junction 10) take the A329(M) towards Reading, then continue on the A329 towards Winnersh and Twyford. Follow signs for Dinton Pastures Country Park. Enter RG10 0TH into your sat nav to reach the main entrance on Davis Street. Ample parking is available on site (a pay & display fee applies), and the venue is well signposted from the motorway. Arriving early on busy days will help avoid any parking delays.
By train: The nearest station is Winnersh (also served by Winnersh Triangle) on the Reading-London line. Winnersh is only a 10-15 minute walk from Dinton Pastures. Exit the station, turn left and follow the road over the motorway bridge, and you will see signs for the country park. Regular trains run from London (Waterloo via Wokingham and Paddington via Reading) and from Oxford or Bristol to Reading, with onward connections. You can also alight at Wokingham or Reading station and take a short taxi or bus ride to the venue. Check National Rail or GWR for the latest schedules.
By bus: Local Thames Valley Buses routes 127, 128 and 129 connect Dinton Pastures with Reading and Wokingham. The bus stop is directly outside the park’s main entrance on Davis Street. These buses typically run every hour (or more frequently on weekends), so check the timetable in advance. Traveling by bus can be convenient and avoids parking fees – simply alight at the Dinton Pastures stop and walk straight in.
By air: London Heathrow Airport is the nearest major airport (around 25 miles east of Wokingham). From Heathrow you can drive via the M4/A329 or take the train. Frequent services run from Heathrow to London Paddington, with connections onward to Reading and Winnersh. Gatwick and Stansted airports are also accessible, but they often require longer travel (generally 1-2 hours via London). Once you reach Reading or Winnersh, a quick taxi or local bus will bring you to the festival site. Alternately, airports in Birmingham or Southampton (while farther away) can sometimes offer competitive flights, with onward rail or road journeys available. In all cases, book early, check timetables, and allow extra time for transfers during busy travel periods.
Accommodation tips: If you prefer not to camp, consider staying in nearby towns. Wokingham (about 3 miles away) and Reading (about 7 miles away) offer a range of hotels, inns and B&Bs to suit different budgets. Book early, especially for summer weekends which fill up fast. Both towns have train stations and local roads with easy access to the festival site. Arriving a day or two early lets you enjoy local pubs, parks and shopping before Marvellous kicks off. And remember, the festival’s own on-site camping and glamping options (with beds provided) mean you can truly make it a weekend adventure.
