By car, Festability’s site is easily accessed via the B2050 (Manston Road) in Birchington. An easy way to find the location is to use Quex Park as the destination or enter the postal code CT7 0BH into your sat-nav. If you're coming from London, take the M2 (or A2/M20) eastbound toward the coast, then switch to the A299 toward Margate and exit to Birchington. From Canterbury, take the A28 into Birchington and follow local signs for Quex Park. The festival provides free parking for cars and coaches on site (with dedicated marked spaces for blue-badge holders near the entrance). Look out for Festability signs on Park Lane that direct you to the event parking area when approaching from Birchington village.
Public transport also offers convenient options. The nearest train station is Birchington-on-Sea (station approach CT7 9RD), served by Southeastern trains on the North Kent line. Regular services run to Birchington from locations including London (with typical journeys from London Victoria or St Pancras taking around 1.5 hours) and regional hubs like Canterbury, Margate, or Ramsgate. From Birchington Station, Quex Park is a short taxi ride away, or you can catch the Stagecoach bus #48 which stops on Park Lane outside Quex Park (route #48 runs between Canterbury and Margate; check weekend schedules). A quick taxi or rideshare from the station to the festival site takes only a few minutes.
For out-of-area visitors, several airports serve Kent. The closest is London Southend Airport (around 45 miles, about an hour’s drive via the A127/A299), which has regional and budget flights. London City Airport is about 60 miles away (roughly one hour by car via the M25/A2), while Gatwick and Heathrow are each around 90–100 miles (approximately 1.5–2 hours by road, depending on traffic). From any airport you can drive directly or use public transport into London and then take the Southeastern train network to Birchington. For example, from Heathrow take the Tube or Heathrow Express into central London, then catch a train to Birchington-on-Sea. Ashford International (Eurostar) station is also about 30 miles from Birchington; a short local train via Canterbury will get you there.
For those planning to stay overnight, Birchington and the nearby towns of Margate and Broadstairs offer a wide range of accommodations. Birchington has several family-run inns, B&Bs, and guest houses within town. The Quex Holiday Park next to the festival provides pitches and lodges for caravans and motorhomes (note: it does not offer tent camping), and an on-site glamping site at Quex Park has ready-made bell tents for rental. Margate and Broadstairs (each about a 10-minute drive away) have larger hotels, guesthouses, and seaside holiday rentals. Many visitors book early and even arrive a day in advance to enjoy the local beaches and attractions before the festival. Wherever you stay, it's best to reserve in advance during the busy summer season.
