About Doune The Rabbit Hole

First held in 2010, Doune The Rabbit Hole 2027 returns to Cardross Estate, Stirling as an eclectic music festival running 16–18 July 2027.

The event was cancelled in 2023. It relaunched at Cardross Estate in 2025 under the Back Doune the Rabbit Hole name, after marking its tenth birthday edition in 2019.

Lineup and Programme

The programme runs across five stages. The named arenas are The Garden Stage, The Big Top, Burrowlands, The Looking Glass and Mad Hatters.

The Garden Stage takes the outdoor main-stage role; The Big Top sits indoors, with Burrowlands as the alternative tent, The Looking Glass for folk and traditional music and Mad Hatters for dance. The stated genres include indie, punk, alternative, folk, traditional, electronic and dance.

Around the bill sit kids and teen activities, wellness sessions and spa use, art installations and workshops, walkabout performance, camping, glamping and food and drink stalls.

Who Is It For?

Children and teens are part of the setup. The festival is described as family-friendly and multi-generational, with dedicated kids and teen zones on site.

Under 18s must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult aged 18 or over.

The Venue and Site

Cardross Estate spans over 4,500 acres. The site includes woodland, river and open countryside, with an on-site riverside spa and wellness area.

Weekend camping is available, covering tent camping, live-in vehicle camping, accessible camping and glamping. Facilities listed for the site include 24/7 security, toilets, showers, drinking water, ELSAN waste disposal, a food and drink village, family camping and a dedicated car park.

Cars cannot park next to tents.

Travel

Cardross Estate sits near Port of Menteith in Stirlingshire, with Stirling the main rail anchor for the festival site.

  • Rail: Stirling Train Station is the shuttle pickup point, with a daily shuttle to the venue.
  • Other stations: Dunblane is around 11–12 miles away, and Bridge of Allan is around 12–13 miles away.
  • Road access: Routes listed include M9 Junction 10, the A84 towards Doune and Callander, the B8075 to Gargunnock, the A811, the B8034 towards Port of Menteith and the A82 from Glasgow.
  • Parking: Parking passes are required for everyone arriving by car. Parking is in a secure car park beside the camping field, and cars cannot be parked next to tents.
  • Nearby cities: Stirling and Dunblane are about 20 minutes’ drive away; Edinburgh and Glasgow are about 50 minutes by car or train.
