ZyniC
ZyniC is the electronic project of H.P. Zymandel from Germany. It develops out of his earlier work as a keyboard player and backing vocalist in several bands, before he moves further into electronic music and begins working more deeply with analogue synthesisers.
The project reflects Zymandel’s interest in 1980s electronic acts such as Yazoo, Japan, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk and OMD, as well as darker electronic and industrial acts including Nitzer Ebb, Skinny Puppy and Front 242. Its sound grows from years of experimentation with analogue synths, during which noise and soundscapes gradually form into melodies.
ZyniC follows several other projects by Zymandel and presents what he describes as a darker side of his work. The music sits within electronic, synth-pop, electropop and futurepop, with a focus on melody shaped through synthetic textures.
