Zanzibar

Zanzibar is a Hungarian pop-rock group from Cegléd, formed in 1999. Their music combines pop, rock and some electronic elements. The band’s line-up includes Terecskei Rita on lead vocals, Sidlovics Gábor József, known as Sidi, on guitar, Steklács Miklós on bass, and Kovács András, known as Doni, on drums. The group is active from 1999 to the present.

History and membership

The band has a fifth founding member, Nagy Gábor, known as Gabszi, who plays guitar and vocals and leaves the group in 2009. Zanzibar is based in Cegléd, Hungary, and is identified as a Hungarian band. Sidlovics Gábor is also listed as a member.

Albums and recognition

Zanzibar releases several albums in the 2000s and early 2010s, including Nem vagyok tökéletes, Ugyanaz vagyok, Az igazi nevem, Új napra ébredsz, Őrangyal and Ádám keresi Évát. The band receives awards in Hungarian music ceremonies, including recognition for Best Newcomer, Best Rock Album and Best Rock Band.
