Yukon Blonde are a Canadian indie rock group from Kelowna, British Columbia. The band forms in 2005 under the name Alphababy and adopts the Yukon Blonde name in late 2008, following a suggestion from Jon-Rae Fletcher while they are touring with him. They relocate to Vancouver and spend 2008 to 2009 developing their material.
Line-up and membership
The group includes Jeff Innes on guitar and vocals, Brandon Scott on guitar and vocals, Graham Jones on drums and vocals, and Adam Newton on bass in their early years. After the recording of their first album, Newton leaves the band to pursue work as a tattoo artist. The group continues as a trio and uses a touring bass player when needed. The verified membership also lists Jeff Innes and Brandon Wolfe Scott as the group’s members.
Recordings
Yukon Blonde sign to the Toronto label Nevado Records and issue a four-track EP, Everything in Everyway, followed by a self-titled debut album. The EP appears in 2009, and the album follows in 2010, with the debut also issued in the United States by Bumstead Productions.
Style and activity
The band are identified as an indie rock act and remain active from 2008 onwards. Their work is associated with the Canadian indie scene and with their move from Kelowna to Vancouver during the period when the project takes shape.
