Young Dreams
Young Dreams are a Norwegian synth-pop group from Bergen, active since 2009. The project is headed by Matias Tellez and centres on a shifting lineup of musicians, with around seven players involved and as many as twelve appearing in performance.
The group works in symphonic and orchestral pop with a dreamlike, expansive sound built around synths, strings and percussion. Their early releases include the self-titled single “Young Dreams” and the track “Fog of War”, which help establish the scale and ambition of their style.
Young Dreams receive international attention through coverage of those releases in outlets including Pitchfork, Stereogum, Nylon, The Fader, Dummy, The Guardian and KEXP. Their music is described as large-scale, hopeful and emotionally direct, with an emphasis on youthful longing and a sense of anticipation.
