Yandel is the stage name of Llandel Veguilla Malavé, a Puerto Rican reggaeton performer best known as one half of the duo Wisin & Yandel. He is associated with latin and reggaeton music and performs from Puerto Rico.

Yandel and Wisin begin performing together in the late 1990s, with Yandel initially billing himself as “Llandel.” The duo makes its album debut in 2000 with Los Reyes del Nuevo Milenio. In 2003 they release Mi Vida... My Life, their first album for Universal subsidiary Machete Music. Their 2005 album Pa’l Mundo brings them mainstream breakthrough success.

WY Records and related work

After their rise, Wisin & Yandel establish their own label, WY Records, and present the affiliate group Los Vaqueros. Yandel is therefore identified both with the duo itself and with the label it creates.
