Yan Wagner

Yan Wagner is a Paris-based French-American artist who makes synthpop, electroclash, electropop, house and new wave-influenced music. He first appears as a solo artist during an extended stay in New York City in 2008 and 2009, while remaining based in Paris. He writes and performs all of his own songs, combining electronic beats and sounds with a low, crooning vocal style.

Style and influences

His music draws on a wide range of electronic and pop references, including Depeche Mode, D.A.F., Prince and Tangerine Dream, as well as neo-disco and early Detroit techno. These influences are described as being folded into a pop-oriented approach.

Releases and live work

Wagner's first album, Forty Eight Hours, is released in 2012. He also contributes the track Recession Song to the compilation Kitsuné Parisien. He performs shows in France and across Europe, and has supported Air, Goldfrapp, Midnight Juggernauts and Hercules & Love Affair.
