Xerxes

Xerxes is the name used by Norwegian producer Klaus Lunde, born in 1973 in South Norway. He works as a downtempo artist and is associated with demoscene and tracker music. He begins making music on an Amiga 500 in 1987, and by 1996 he arrives at a style he develops further in later work.

He is based in Tønsberg, Vestfold, Norway, and releases music on Cardamar Music. His solo catalogue includes albums such as Xerxes For Dummies and The Mirror Formula, as well as the remix EP 226 B.C. He also performs live as Xerxes Live and plays festivals both as a DJ and with that live setup.

Live work

Xerxes Live includes Bendik Hovik Kjeldsberg on drums, Thomas Wicklund-Larsen on acoustic guitar and vocals, and Kristoffer Skaar Kvig on electric guitar. In this live format, Xerxes extends the studio project into performance work.
