Wreckless Eric is the stage name of Eric Goulden, a singer-songwriter from Newhaven, United Kingdom, born in 1954. He is associated with punk, new wave, pub rock and rock, and is linked to the British pub-rock scene.

Career

He is one of the earlier artists signed to Stiff Records. Although he works as a singer-songwriter with a distinctive voice, his records do not chart, while his live performances build him a loyal audience. He continues to perform to this audience.

Recordings and collaborations

He records with his wife Amy Rigby, an American singer-songwriter, under the name Wreckless Eric & Amy Rigby. They release their first album in 2008 and follow it with a second in 2010.

The song "Whole Wide World" gains renewed attention after appearing on the soundtrack to Stranger Than Fiction in 2006. It also appears earlier in Me Without You.
