Woodhands

Woodhands is a Canadian electronic music group from Montréal, active since 2005 and later based in Toronto. The act is associated with dance-punk, dance-punk revival, electroclash, electronica, indie rock and indietronica, and is signed to Paper Bag Records.

Formation and lineup

Woodhands begins as a duo formed by Dan Werb and Paul Banwatt. Werb performs on keytar, synths and vocals, while Banwatt plays drums and sings. Dan Werb remains the listed member of the group.

Releases and collaborators

The band’s debut full-length is Heart Attack. Fellow Paper Bag artist Laura Barrett contributes guest vocals to the album.

Recognition and live reputation

Woodhands gains attention for its energetic live performances, described as sweaty and impulsive, and is named by Exclaim! as one of the bands to watch in 2008.
