Witches

Witches are a French extreme metal group from Antibes, active from 1986 to the present. They play death metal, speed metal and thrash metal.

History

The band forms in 1986 and later reforms in 2006 after an earlier period of activity that runs until 1996. The group includes Sybille Colin-Tocquaine, who is identified as the sister of Agressor leader and Loudblast guitarist Alex Colin-Tocquaine. In the 2006 line-up, the band also includes Bernard Yves Quéruel of ADX and a former Forest In Blood bass player.

Context

Witches is also a name used by several other groups in different countries and styles, including rock and alternative pop in Korea, alt/indie rock in Oxford, indie punk in Athens, Georgia, and alternative music in the Czech Republic.
