William The Conqueror
William The Conqueror is a British indie-rock band from Newquay, Cornwall, active since 2015. The group is led by Ruarri Joseph, who fronts the band on vocals and guitar. Its line-up also includes Naomi Holmes on bass and vocals, and Harry Harding on drums and vocals.
The band’s debut album, Proud Disturber of the Peace, is released in 2017. A track from that record, “Tend to the Thorns”, is nominated for UK Song of the Year at the UK Americana Awards. The follow-up album, Bleeding on the Soundtrack, arrives in 2019. The band later releases a third album, Maverick Thinker, which is self-produced.
William The Conqueror is identified with folk rock as well as indie-rock.
