Wendy Eisenberg is an improviser, songwriter and writer based in Boston, United States. They are born in 1991 and work across experimental and folk music, with a practice that also reaches into jazz, noise and avant-rock.

Music

Eisenberg uses guitar, pedals, tenor banjo, computer, synthesizer and voice. They often work solo, both as a songwriter and as an improviser, and their performances range from international festivals to small basement shows. Their releases appear on Tzadik, VDSQ, Out of your Head and Garden Portal.

They also play in the rock band Editrix and appear in a number of other combinations with musicians including Allison Miller, Carla Kihlstedt, John Zorn, Billy Martin and Caroline Davis. They are a member of the Bill Orcutt Guitar Quartet and whait.

Writing

Alongside performing, Eisenberg writes about music and other subjects. Their published essays appear in Sound American, Arcana and Contemporary Music Review.
