Wayne Kramer
Wayne Kramer is a guitarist and singer-songwriter best known for his work with the proto-punk band MC5, where he is referred to as “Brother Wayne”. He is associated with punk, rock and alternative music, and his songs often deal with social inequality and the legacy of the Beat generation.
He records several solo albums and works extensively with David Was of Was (Not Was). He also contributes to albums by Henry Rollins and other artists. Between 2004 and 2006, he tours with former MC5 members Michael Davis and Dennis Thompson in DKT/MC5, joined by various guest musicians.
Kramer is known as an intellectual and astute lyricist, and he is also associated with disputes over the legacy of MC5. He dies in 2024.
