Vlada

Vlada is a Swiss soul singer, songwriter and pianist. Raised in Switzerland in a Serbian family, he later lives in England and Germany and is based in Nashville. He speaks five languages fluently. He has more than 20 years of stage experience and has given hundreds of performances as a lead singer in various projects in Europe and the United States.

Debut album

His debut album, All About You, is completed after more than five years of work without major label backing. It features original songs and draws on soul, funk, pop and gospel, with a sound that recalls Motown and 1970s soul and funk records. The album is made with US session players including drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, bassist Abraham Laboriel, guitarist Paul Jackson Jr., vocal group Take 6 and saxophonist Kirk Whalum.

Recording and collaborators

The main sessions for All About You take place in Switzerland in 2003, when the musicians have a few days off from other commitments. Vlada records 13 tracks live in the studio in two days, singing live with the band, and later continues sessions in Nashville after Mark Kibble of Take 6 suggests that he co-produce and finish the album in Tennessee.
