Violet Grohl is an American singer-songwriter and musician from Los Angeles, United States. She is known for female vocals and works in alternative rock, rock and grunge-related contexts.

Early life and musical development

Grohl receives a musical education and develops proficiency with music production software at an early age. She is the daughter of Dave Grohl.

Performances and collaborations

Her first professional performance takes place in 2018, when she performs Adele’s “When We Were Young” at Fox Oakland Theatre in support of UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. As her profile grows, she performs live with her father and the remaining members of Nirvana.

In 2021, she and Dave Grohl release a cover of X’s “Nausea”, which leads to her debut release. Later that year she appears on The Hanukkah Sessions, where she covers Amy Winehouse’s “Take the Box”. She also collaborates with her father on a series of covers and performances.

Solo work

Grohl later releases her debut solo singles, which mark a shift toward a new sound combining contemporary alternative rock with a vintage influence. Her music is described as featuring powerful, melodic vocals and gritty, punchy guitar riffs.

She releases her debut album, Be Sweet to Me.
