Victor Deme is a singer-songwriter from Burkina Faso, West Africa. Deme recorded his debut album in his mid-40s.His mother was a singer, his father a tailor, and he has had both professions over the years. According to Songlines magazine his voice is warm and slightly husky and his songs are splendidly lyrical and supported by excellent guitar playing, with a touch of piano here, and gentle percussion there. His music brings to mind an acoustic Salif Keita and is a reminder of Africa's musical talent.
