Velveteen Queen

Velveteen Queen are a Swedish rock band from Gothenburg. The group forms in 2021 when four musicians meet at high school and start playing together, and singer Samuel Nilsson later joins, moving to Gothenburg soon afterwards. The band line-up includes Nilsson on lead vocals, Lukas Axx and Noah Mardh on guitars, Isac Borg on drums and Vilmer Fall on bass.

Early releases and debut album

Velveteen Queen release their debut single, TRAUMA, in March 2022. With only four singles out, they also issue their first self-released vinyl, The Theater Sessions, in connection with a tour with Nestor. Their debut album, Consequence of the city, follows after a run of singles that includes Take me higher, Barrel of a gun, Dreamer and Bad Reputation.

Live activity and recordings

The band plays at major Swedish festivals including Sweden Rock Festival, Skogsröjet Festival, Kristianstad Rockfest and Malmöfestivalen. They also tour Sweden with Nestor and appear as support for Hardcore Superstar on several occasions. Their videos are filmed by Patrik Ullaeus of rEvolver Film, and their album is recorded at Crehate Studios.

Style and influences

Velveteen Queen play hard rock with a sound that draws on the late 1980s and early 1990s. Their influences include Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver. Their activities place them within the contemporary Swedish rock scene, and they also appear alongside acts such as Judas Priest, Alice Cooper, Megadeth and Mammoth WVH in the live circuit described around the band.
