Vega is a Spanish singer-songwriter, born in 1979 and from Spain. Her work is listed as alternative pop.
Career
She begins her musical career on a Spanish television music show, but leaves because she does not like its commercial approach. She goes on to release two studio albums. Her first album, India, appears in 2003 and includes a large number of songs she writes herself, alongside versions of Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life” and K’s Choice’s “Believe”, both sung in English.
Her best-known single is “Quiero ser tú”, which sells more than 200,000 copies in Spain. Other singles from India include “Grita!”, “La verdad”, featuring Elena Gadel, and “Directo al Sol”.
Second album
Her second album, Circular, appears in 2006. It is sung entirely in Spanish and all of its songs are written by Vega except “Sólo quiero amanecer”, which is composed by Dani from El Canto del Loco. Its lead single is “Una vida contigo”.
Style
Vega works as a solo female artist in Spanish pop, with a catalogue centred on self-written material and Spanish-language songwriting.
