V2A

V2A is a UK electro group formed in December 2001 and active from 2002 onwards. The group consists of Ines Lehmann and Kevin Stewart. Its sound sits across aggrotech, EBM, electro, electronic, industrial and techno, with tags also associated with dark electro and TBM.

Early history

V2A makes its live debut in January 2002 at the G.I.P. (Gothic Industrial Party) in club Zechecarl in Essen, Germany. A few months later, in May 2002, it appears at Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, which helps establish the group’s live reputation.

Releases

The group’s first album, EBM, appears in 2002 on the German label Trisol (Matrix Cube). It becomes widely used on dance floors and is sold out within months of release. The follow-up, Mechanized Infantry, arrives in March 2009 and spends several weeks in the Top 10 of the German DAC charts and the Dutch DUC charts.

Live work and compilation appearances

V2A performs at a range of events and venues, including Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, Euro-Rock in Belgium, Terra Gotha and Summer Darkness in the Netherlands, 80HZ Festival in Italy, and Slimelight in London. The group also appears on various compilation albums worldwide.

Membership and presentation

The group is presented with three live personas: 304 (Kevin) on vocals, 316 (Ines) on vocals, and 654SMO (Matt) on live percussion and drums, with members also switching to keyboards between songs. The two named members are Ines Lehmann and Kevin Stewart.
