Undersmile

Undersmile are a sludge metal and doom metal group from Oxford. The line-up consists of Taz Corona-Brown on vocals and guitar, Hel Sterne on vocals and lead guitar, Olly Corona-Brown on bass guitar and Tom McKibbin on drums. Hel Sterne and Taz Corona-Brown have been writing and playing music together since 2006.

The group is associated with sludgecore, doom, drone and sludge, and their sound draws on the slow, heavy approach of early 1990s underground rock. Their influences include Melvins, Mudhoney, Hole, Babes In Toyland, Harvey Milk, Swans and Pissed Jeans.

Undersmile are noted for their dual harmony vocals, with the two singers sharing lead duties. Their music is described through references to slow, unrelenting riffs, heavy distortion, psychedelic elements and dronish doom-sludge textures.
