Tying Tiffany is an electronic and electropunk singer and songwriter from Padua, Italy, born in 1978. She also uses the names TT and Tiff Lion. Her work is associated with alternative rock, electroclash, electronic and gothic rock.
Career
Tying Tiffany begins recording music in 2005. Early in her career she travels across Europe as a bass player and singer in indie rock bands, and she also appears in independent films, art films and theatrical performances. She studies at the Art Institute, where she explores design, photography, performance art and music.
Her first single, “You Know Me”, appears on the Berlin compilation Full Body Workout vol. 2 through Get Physical. Her debut album, Undercover, is released in 2005 on Jato Music. It combines techno punk, hardcore rhythms, electro and industrial elements, alongside post-punk and dadaist influences.
Albums and EPs
Her second album, Brain for Breakfast, is released in 2007 on I Scream Records and includes collaborations with Nic Endo and Pete Namlook. It is followed by a European tour of more than 200 dates, taking in clubs focused on rock and electronic music.
Peoples Temple appears in 2010 on Trisol Records. The album takes a darker direction and its title refers to the cult led by Jim Jones, with the record using that reference to address social themes, ignorance and a lack of discrimination. In 2011 she and producer Lorenzo Montanà start the side project T.T.L. (Through the Lens), which makes instrumental music for soundtracks and trailers.
Her fourth album, Dark Days, White Nights, is released by Trisol Records in 2012. The single “Drownin’” is included in FIFA 12, and the track “Storycide” is later used by CBS in an episode of CSI: Las Vegas. In 2013 she releases the four-track EP One on ZerOKilled Music.
She also issues the remix albums Black Neon Rmxs in 2009 and Peoples Temple Remix Edition in 2011.
