truck violence is a hardcore group from Montréal, Canada, formed in 2022. It has also been known as TRUCK and no cru5t. The current lineup includes Karsyn Henderson on vocals, Paul Lecours on guitar, Chris Clegg on bass and Noah Baxter on percussion. Some members come from other parts of Canada, including Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Style and background

The group plays a mix of hardcore, post-hardcore, noise rock, sludge and pigfuck, and is described as drawing on modern Western Canadian hardcore and folk. Its music is marked by a sense of disappointment and honesty, balanced with a rural Canadian perspective. The band presents itself as connected to life in the sticks, shaped by sleepy farm towns, oil rigs and local forestry.

Releases

truck violence first attracts attention through local underground punk and hip-hop shows. It releases its debut single, Chaga tea, with a music video in March 2023. A second single, My flourishing is the condition of your flourishing, appears a few months later on DEMO 2023, an EP that leads into the debut project HINTERLANDS.
