Trepalium

Trepalium is a French metal group from Boismé, active from 2001 to 2024. The band is sometimes written as TrepaliuM and is associated with death metal, groove metal, avant-garde metal and technical death metal.

Background and style

The group forms in 2001 in Bressuire, France, and later becomes identified with a blend of death metal and other influences. Its sound includes technical and groovy elements, with some material also described as jazzy and melodic.

Albums

The debut album, Through The Absurd, appears in 2004 and is produced by Joe Duplantier of Gojira. The follow-up, Alchemik Clockwork Of Disorder, appears in 2006 and develops a more groovy, jazzy and melodic direction than the first record.
