Transit
Transit are a pop punk group from Stoneham, Massachusetts, in the United States. The band is active from 2006 to 2016 and is associated with North Shore, Massachusetts pop punk.
Career and releases
Transit builds its sound around pop punk, with links in style to bands such as Taking Back Sunday, Saves The Day, Crime In Stereo, Balance & Composure, Polar Bear Club and Hot Water Music. The band signs to Rise Records.
The group releases five full-length albums: This Will Not Define Us in 2008, Keep This To Yourself in 2010, Listen & Forgive in 2011, Young New England in 2013 and Joyride in 2014. Their other releases include the Let It Out EP in 2007, the Stay Home EP in 2009, the acoustic EPs Something Left Behind in 2011 and Futures and Sutures in 2013, a Record Store Day 7" titled Promise Nothing in 2011, a split 7" with Man Overboard, and a self-titled four-song demo.
Line-up and end of the band
The band includes Ella Amber Meadows on vocals, Torre Cioffi on guitar and vocals, PJ Jefferson on bass, and Daniel Frazier on drums. Tim Landers, a former guitarist, backing vocalist and songwriter, leaves before the release of Joyride, after which the band continues as a four-piece. Transit announces its break-up in February 2016 and plays its final shows in April of that year.
