Tracey Curtis is a solo acoustic singer-songwriter from Carmarthenshire in the United Kingdom. Her work sits within folk and singer-songwriter traditions, and she is also associated with political songwriting.

Career

She begins her solo career in 2003, when her children ask her to write a protest song about a planned bypass that would damage a natural play area they use. She tours regularly in Wales and southern England, and often performs benefit shows for causes including Oxfam, trade unions, and prisoners’ support groups.

Curtis records for two labels run by Robb Johnson: Unlabelled and Irregular Records. She has performed with David Rovics and Chumbawamba. She is also a former member of the punk band Shelley’s Children, and is listed as a member of Tracey Curtis and the Well Ones.

Recordings

Her releases include If the Moon Could Talk and Picture Postcards. Picture Postcards is one of her two CDs and appears after her solo career begins.
