Touchstone

Touchstone are a progressive rock group from Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. They form in 2006 and remain active, with music described as a crossover between melodic rock and progressive rock, and also as crossover prog and progressive rock.

Early releases

The band’s first industry-standard four-track EP, Mad Hatters, appears in July 2006. The release includes the tracks “Misguided Fool”, “One Shot”, “Hear Me” and “The Mad Hatters’ Song”, and receives critical attention from the music press.

Full-length album

Touchstone follow it with the full-length album Discordant Dreams, recorded at Outhouse Studios in Reading in July 2007 with John Mitchell, known for his work with It Bites. The album is mastered by Tim Turan and is noted for moving between heavier rock textures and more delicate, progressive passages.
