Tony B

Tony B is the solo project of Tony Buschauer, whose music combines rock, jazz, folk and country elements with introspective lyrics. His songs are noted for a reflective, personal approach, and his live work builds on a long-running following in Southern California.

Career

Buschauer moves to Los Angeles in 2003 and emerges on the local scene as the singer, guitarist and main songwriter in the rock band ERWIN. In 2005, he begins working as a solo artist as his writing becomes darker, more moody and more personal. Under the Tony B name, he performs widely on the west coast, including shows at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip, The Viper Room, The Whisky a-Go-Go, Hard Rock Cafe, the El Rey Theater and Hotel Cafe.

Recording and recognition

He records numerous songs with producer and engineer Brian Reeves, whose credits include U2, Billy Idol and Rooney. Many of these recordings receive airplay on more than 200 college radio stations across the United States. Billboard Magazine recognises his songwriting, and he reaches the final of NBC's Star Tomorrow contest in 2006. He also completes a tour through the Midwest and continues to write and record material for later release.

Style

His work is described as drawing from rock, jazz, folk and country, with lyrics that search for resolution and a sense of hope. The Tony B name is also associated with a collaboration featuring Cypha da Moonchild.
