Tim Sweeney

Tim Sweeney is a DJ and technician based in New York City. He presents the Beats In Space radio show on WNYU 89.1 FM, where he mixes live with guest DJs every Tuesday night. The programme begins in 1999 and has continued without missing a week since then.

Radio and DJ work

Sweeney holds a residency at APT and is a regular presence on the New York club circuit. His sets bring together old school hip hop, techno classics, disco, rarities, re-edits, remixes and current tracks. He also performs with DFA on tours and plays internationally in his own right.

Production and industry links

He has internships with Steinski and DFA Records, and he also carries out paid production work for DFA. His work places him within indie, electronic, synthpop and space disco contexts, alongside his radio and DJ activity.
