Tilly Dalglish

Tilly Dalglish is a folk singer-songwriter from Suffolk. She writes and performs from the age of 13 and is described as a young folk artist with a distinctive voice and style. Her early live activity includes festival appearances and support slots within the English folk scene.

Career

Dalglish makes her festival debut in 2013 at Maddy Prior’s Stepping Stones Festival and at FolkEast. In the same period she performs with Bellowhead, a group described as award winning. Her music also receives radio attention, with songs featured by Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1 and by Tom Robinson on the BBC 6 Radio Mixtape.

In 2014 she supports the Songsisters Tour with Fiona Bevan and Kal Lavelle, and also performs alongside Dave Swarbrick, Ashley Hutchings and Ken Nicol. Later that year she launches her EP Painted Faces at FolkEast, where she plays on the main stage.

Reception

BBC Suffolk Introducing describes her as a 16-year-old with striking talent, and Ipswich promoter Amy Soapbox praises her voice and performance, presenting her as a promising young artist from Suffolk.
