Tiffany Page

Tiffany Page is a London-born English singer-songwriter and rock musician. She spends part of her childhood in Zimbabwe after her mother takes her there when she is a year old, and later returns to London.

Early life and beginnings

She receives her first guitar for her fourteenth birthday, after she has already discovered American alternative rock. Once she learns three chords, she starts writing songs. She leaves school at sixteen and supports herself through waitressing work and a short period in a fish and chip shop, while continuing to write.

Her first paid booking is at the café bar where she works, where she plays covers for a couple of hours each month. At that stage she can play four chords. She also begins performing her own songs at open-mike nights in a local North London club after encouragement from her friend Joe Sumner.

Recording and release history

After nearly three years of performing acoustically and building an audience, she posts a MySpace video of herself performing the song “Old Friend”. This leads to a management deal and a contract with Mercury Records in 2009. She then spends time in Los Angeles and London writing and recording her debut album, Walk Away Slow, which includes the title track as her debut single.
