Tibet

Tibet is a group from Italy associated with italo-dance. The line-up includes Michele Comis, Walter Cremonini and Claudio Varola.

The name has also been used by other acts in different places and styles. One version of Tibet begins as a cover band called Fine Art in Werdohl, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, before moving into original music. In that account, the group first makes music with Indian and East Asian influences, using sitar and tabla prominently, then shifts towards symphonic progressive rock after finding those instruments difficult to play. That later style draws on bands such as Yes, Genesis and Camel.

That progressive rock recording appears as a self-titled album released on Bellaphon in 1979 and later reissued on CD by Muséa in 1994. Another account describes a Croatian band from Karlovac with members including Momo, Muharko, Jakac, Ajhman, Sale, Meštra, Muzika and Musa, and says its album Tibet is recorded at Radio Karlovac in 1983.
