Thomas Gandey

Thomas Gandey is a DJ and producer based in Bordeaux and Brighton, working in house, electronic, tech house and minimal styles. He is also known under the Cagedbaby name, where he develops a poppy tech-disco sound.

Work as Cagedbaby

Under the Cagedbaby alias, Gandey releases songs and production built around a tech-disco approach. His DJ style combines tough techno with nu disco, and this also shapes the music he makes in the studio.

Releases and recordings

He releases material on Southern Fried Records, including the album Will See You Now and the compilation Fried And Tested, which he makes with Fatboy Slim. He also contributes compilations for Pacha and DJ Mag, and appears on a Radio 1 Essential Mix.

Remixes and collaborations

Gandey produces his work himself in the studio. He is a classically trained pianist and describes himself as an analogue synth enthusiast. His remix work includes tracks for The Editors, The Temper Trap, Grace Jones and Alphabeat, with support from Pete Tong, Radioslave, Sasha and Aeroplane.

Performing activity

As a DJ, he tours across Europe, Asia and the USA. His European dates include performances for Pacha Ibiza, Space and Wonderland in Ibiza. He also develops several collaboration projects alongside his solo work.
